Answer:

(a) Gases have a negligible intermolecular force of attraction between the particles of gas. The random motion of particles in all the directions is experience in the vessel. Hence, the gas fills completely the vessel in which it is kept.

(b) According to the kinetic theory of gases, gases exert pressure on the walls of the container because of the collisions between the molecule and the wall. These collisions are perfectly elastic.

(c) A wooden table should be called a solid. Reason: It has a definite shape and volume. It is very rigid and cannot be compressed i.e., it has the characteristics of a solid.

(d) On the other hand, wood has little space between its particles. Also, it is rigid. For this reason, we can easily move our hands in air, but to do the same through a solid block of wood, we need a karate expert. This is because there is very empty space between the particles of solids and liquids.

Hope it helps you!
