To Find :- How much sheet metal is required to make a closed rectangular box of length 1.5 m, breadth 1.2 m and height 1.3 m ?

Answer :-

we have,

  • Length of rectangular box = L = 1.5 m .
  • Breadth = B = 1.2 m .
  • Height = H = 1.3 m .

we know that,

  • Surface Area of Box(Cuboid) = 2(LB + BH + HL)

putting values we get,

→ TSA = 2(1.5 * 1.2 + 1.2 * 1.3 + 1.5 * 1.3)

→ TSA = 2(1.80 + 1.56 + 1.95)

→ TSA = 2 * 5.31

→ TSA = 10.62 m² (Ans.)

therefore, 10.62m² of sheet metal is required to make the rectangular box.

Answer:

 \bf10.62 sqm

Step-by-step explanation:

 \bf \: length \: of \: box = l = 1.5 m,

 \bf \: breadth = b = 1.2 m,

 \bf \: height = h = 1.3 m.

Surface area of box = 2 ( lxb + bxh + lxh )

 \bf= 2 (1.5 × 1.2 + 1.2 × 1.3 + 1.5 × 1.3)

 \bf= 2 (1.80 + 1.56 + 1.95)

 \bf= 2 (5.31)

 \bf= 10.62 sqm

10.62 sqm of sheet metal will be needed to make the box.
