The boiled leaf is taken in a test tube and immersed in alcohol.
The test tube is then subjected to water bath.
This process is continued until the alcohol turns green.

Aim:-
- To test presence of starch in leaves.
Materials needed:-
- Iodine solution , a leaf , alcohol , stove .
Method:-
- First we have to remove chlorophyll by boiling it in alcohol.
- Now insert two drops of iodine solution on leaf.
- Then the colour changes to blue colour.That indicates the present of starch in leaves.
Conclusion:-
- The greeny area changes into blue colour.That indicates the present of starch in leaves.
