Linear Equations
Given
3 Identical books and a stationery set have a total mass of 3kg 80g. Mass of the stationery set is 320g.
To Find
Mass of such two books.
Solution
Let mass of a book = x
Then,
Mass of three books = 3x
and
Let mass of stationary set = y
It is given that total mass of 3 books and a stationary set is 3 kg and 80 grams.
So,
3x + y = 3 kg 80g
3x + y = ( 3 × 1000 + 80 ) grams
3x + y = 3080 grams
It is given that mass of stationary set that is 'y' is 320 grams.
It means, y = 320 grams
3x + 320 = 3080
3x = 3080 - 320
3x = 2760 grams
x = ( 2760 / 3 ) grams
x = 920 grams
It means mass of a book is 920 grams.
Now,
Mass of such two books will be,
2 times 920 grams
2 × 920 grams
1840 grams
Answer
So, the mass of such two books is 1840 grams.
