If two events A and B are independent then,

P(A n B)= P(A).P(B)

P(A u B)= P(A)+P(B)-P(A n B)

Since A and B are independent, so

P(A u B)= P(A)+P(B)-P(A).P(B)

0.9=0.6+P(B)-(0.6 x P(B))

P(B)(1–0.6)=0.3

P(B)=3/4= 0.75

Answer:

P(B) = 0.5

P(AUB) =P(A) +P(B)

P(B) = 0.9-0.4

P(B) = 0.5
