3. If f(x - 1) = 7x-5, find f(x) and f(x + 2)

therefore f(x-1)= a(x-1) + b = ax - a - b

comparing with the given equation we get,

1. ax = 7x => a = 7

2. -a-b = -5

=> a + b = 5

=> b = 5 - a = 5-7 = -2

therefore f(x) = 7x -2

f(x + 2) = 7(x-2) -2 = 7x -14 -2 = 7x -16
