Answer:

p= -12

solution :

M [(-6-2)/2, (5+3)/2]

M (-4,4)

given M(p/3, 4)

So, p/3= -4

p = -3×4= -12

If P(x,y) is the mid point of the line segment joining A(x₁,y₁) and B(x₂,y₂) then,

x = (x₁ + x₂)/2   and y = (y₁ + y₂)/2

Similarly here M is the midpoint of PQ.

So,

p/3 = (-6-2)/2      and     4 = (5+3)/2

p/3 = -4

p = -12
