Question given :

If 'S' is added to four times of a number, I get the same answer when I added 35 to

the same number. Find the number.

Required solution :

Let the number be x

Four times the number will be 4x

S added to it will give 4x + s

The number when added to 35

According to the Statement ,

  • 4x + s = x + 35

  • 4x - x = 35 - s

  • 3x = 35 - s

  • x = \sf\dfrac{35}{3}\:-\:s

  • x = 11.6 - s

So the number is 11.6 - s
