GIVEN:

mean of 5, 7, x, 10, 5 and 7 = 7

TO FIND :

The value of X

FORMULA USED :

mean \:  =  \frac{sum \: of \: terms}{number \: of \: terms}

SOLUTION :

mean of 5, 7, x, 10, 5 and 7 = 7

To find the value of X ,we will use the formula ⟹

⟹mean \:  =  \frac{sum \: of \: terms}{number \: of \: terms}

Sum of terms => 5+ 7+x+ 10+ 5 + 7 = 34+ x

Number of terms = 6

mean = 7

⟹7 =  \frac{34 + x}{6}

⟹7 \times 6 =  34 + x

⟹42=  34 + x

⟹42-34=   x

⟹8=   x

ANSWER : X = 8

__________________________

Verification :-

mean \:  =  \frac{sum \: of \: terms}{number \: of \: terms}

therefore , mean = (5+ 7+8+ 10+ 5 + 7 )/6

⟶ 42/6

⟶ 7

hence verified.
