the diagonals of rhombous are perpendicular bisectors

the rhombous is comprised of four right angle triangles with each side as hypotenuse and half the diagonals as sides, hence

half the other diagonal =√ side^2 - half the one diagonal^2

= √10^2 - 8^2

= √100-64

=√36

= 6 cm

hence length of other diagonal is 2*6 = 12 cm

area of rhombous = (1/2)* product of diagonals

= (1/2)*18*12

= 108 sqcm
