  • Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM) is the motion in which the acceleration of the moving particle is proportional to its displacement from its mean position and directed opposite to the displacement (a=-kx).
  • When the particle is at the mid-position which is the mean position, the displacement becomes zero.
  • So the acceleration at that point, a=-k(0)=0
  • Hence, acceleration at the mid-position of a particle doing SHM is zero.
