Answer:

(a) The worth of x coins of Rs. 5 each : ₹ 50 or 5 x

Total worth of coins = ₹ 70

2 x + 5 x = ₹ 70

7 x = ₹ 70

x = 70 / 7 = ₹ 10               5 x = 5 × 10 = ₹ 50

(b) The worth of x coins of Rs. 2 each : ₹ 20 or 2 x

Total worth of coins = ₹ 70

2 x + 5 x = ₹ 70

7 x = ₹ 70

x = 70 / 7 = ₹ 10               2 x = 2 × 10 = ₹ 20

(c) The equation formed is : 2 x + 5 x = ₹ 70

                                                7 x = ₹ 70

(d) There are :-

5 rupee coins - x which can be determined only when total no. of coins is given

          &

2 rupee coins - x which can be determined only when total no. of coins is given
