Percentage
The word per cent means hundred for every hundred.
it is represented symblicly using the % sign.
For example :
- 20/100 = 20 %
- 50/100 = 50 %
How can we convert fraction into denominator when it is not 100 ?
➡ to convert a fraction into percent when the denominator is not hundred, just multiply the fraction by 100 and put the percentage symbol when the result obtained.
For example express 3/4 as percentage.
a) 3/4
Multiply it by 100
= 3/4 × 100
which is equal to 3 × 25 = 75%
Thus, 3/4 is equal to 75%
