To Find :- In the adjoining figure find :-

  • A(∆PQR) : A(∆RSQ) = ?

Solution :-

In ∆PQR, given that,

→ ∠PQR = 90° .

so,

→ PQ = Perpendicular height .

→ RQ = Base .

then,

→ Area of right angled ∆PQR = (1/2) * Base * Perpendicular height = (1/2) * RQ * PQ --------- Eqn.(1)

similarly,

In ∆SRQ, given that,

→ ST ⟂ RQ .

so,

→ ST = Perpendicular height .

→ RQ = Base .

then,

→ Area of ∆SRQ = (1/2) * Base * Perpendicular height = (1/2) * RQ * ST --------- Eqn.(2)

therefore,

→ A(∆PQR) : A(∆RSQ) = (1/2) * RQ * PQ : 1/2) * RQ * ST

→ A(∆PQR) : A(∆RSQ) = PQ : ST (Ans.)
