3. In the adjoining figure, O is the centre of
the circle. The chord AB = 10 cm is such that
OP AB. Find the length of AP.​

GIVEN :-

AB = 10Cm

OP = 6Cm

TO FIND :-

Length of AP

SOLUTION :-

∠OCA = 90°

BY Pythagoras Theorem,

AC² = AB² - OP²

AC² = 10² - 6²

AC = 8

We Know that perpendicular from centre of circle bisects the chord .

Therefore AP = 2 ( AC )

AP = 16
