D) a, b, d

The universal law of gravitation states that, in the universe, every object attracts each other with a force which is directly proportional with the mass of them and inversely proportional with the square of distance between them.

 F \propto m_1m_2 and,

 F \propto \frac{1}{d^2} .

It has explained several natural phenomena which were believed to be unconnected.

  1. Motion of planets around the Sun.
  2. Motion of moon around the Earth.
  3. Force which binds us with the Earth.
  4. Formation of tides due to sun and moon.
