Answer:

Answer: The criterion used by the UNDP for measuring development is different from the one used by the World Bank in the sense that it uses a combination of factors such as health, education and income as indicators of development. It does not rely solely on per capita income, as is the case with the World Bank.

Answer:

The criterion used by the UNDP for measuring development is different from the criterion used by the World Bank.

• The World Bank uses only one criterion, the the per capita income (PCI). But the UNDP uses many criteria such as per capita income (PCI), health status (life expectancy rate), education (literacy rate) and gross enrollment ratio.

• On the basis of the comparison done by UNDP, the countries are ranked as first, second ,third and so on, whereas the comparison done by the World Bank ,the countries are divided into three categories, they are:

•rich , developed and higher income countries.

• middle/moderate income or developing countries.

• poor, underdeveloped and low income countries.

• The UNDP has a broader concept of development whereas the world bank has a narrow concept of development.
