Answer:

India as a democratic country-India is the largest democracy in the world, its a country of over 125 crore Indians commited to secure the justice, equality, unity, fraternity among the people of India, the democracy in India is indirect, people rule by choosing their own representatives in the states and the central government which takes place every five years(subjected to whether the party in the state and the centre have a majority or are maintaining a coalition through a host of other opposition parties).People vote through universal adult franchise-anyone above the age of 18 years can vote without discrimination on any grounds-this was brought by the 61st constitutional amendment act of 1988 where the voting age was reduced from 21 years to 18 years, everyone has the right to self-determination and have been vested with equal rights and freedom(fundamental rights in Part III and Directive Principles of State Policy-Part IV).

India as a republic-The term denotes that India is ruled by an elected head of the state i.e.the President who is elected for a fixed term of 5 years, whereas in Britain where the system of republic is different the monarch comes to power by hereditary means of succession, there are also two fundamental differences between the republic in India and Britain-the people are the supreme deciders of power and the concept of popular sovereignty prevails in India and Britain.
