 \sqrt{5}  +  \sqrt{3}
irrational? Justify your answer.​

Given:

5 = 2.236-----------

3 = 1.732------------

Here it is given ,

5+3

= 2.236------+1.732-------

= 3.968--------

Here the sum is in the form of decimal.

But according to rational numbers properties

A number is said to be rational number if it is of the form p/q .

But ,

Here the sum is not in the form of p/q

so ,

we can conclude that

5+3 is irrational number.
