\bf{Hii\:There!!!}

To check whether -3 is root of \bf{2(x+4)=14}

Substitute x = -3 if result comes to be equal to zero then it is its root.

=> 2[ -3 + 4 ] - 14 = 0

=> 2 [ 1 ] - 14 = 0

=> 2 - 14 = 0

=> -12 ≠ 0

Hence, \bf{-3\:is\:not\:a\:a\:root\:of\:given\:equation}
