1 MVR = 0.053 euros

20 MVR = 20 × 0.053

= 1.06 euros

Answer: my opinion might not reflect the majority, but we always do change Euros into Maldivian Rufiya at the airport counter from the National Bank of Maldives (the name is s.th. like this). It is a 1% commisssion fee on the most recent exchange rate. That is much better than changing into any foreign currency at home, where you always "loose" 5-6% on the selling rate you receive in foreigh countries.

Plus, I think although resort prices are quoted in USD, still the MVR is the local currency, most people have to deal with, when off the resort area. Thus, would (and will) continue to proceed the way we are used to.
