NGOs are the Non-Governmental Organizations that work for the well being of the people.
In my locality, there are a few NGOs, although not so much recognized, they work decently well for the betterment of society. Some of them are:
Aastha Association - This institution works for them would-be mothers, supplying them with all necessary medication and arranging all necessary means to transport them to hospitals when in labour.
Chatra Saathi - This institution looks after a decent amount of small kids, arrange for their food, shelter, clothing and educating them.
