Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Using @ as the varies sign as I'm not having the varying sign.

m @ n

=> m=k. n( k is a non zero constant) - - - - (i)

=> Putting the given values

=> 16=k.24

=>k = 16/24

=>k= 2/3

The value of constant i.e. K= 2/3

SOLUTION

GIVEN

m ∝ n and when m = 16 , n = 24

TO DETERMINE

The constant of variation and equation of variation

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

m ∝ n

⇒ m = kn where k = constant of variation

Now when m = 16 , n = 24 gives

16 = 24k

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies k =  \frac{16}{24} }

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies k =  \frac{2}{3} }

Thus we have

The constant of variation\displaystyle \sf{ =  \frac{2}{3}  }

The equation of variation

\displaystyle \sf{m =  \frac{2n}{3} }
