Answer

1. A manuscript is a handwritten or typewritten document whereas an inscription is a text carved on a hard surface.

2. Manuscripts were usually written on palm leaf, or on the specially prepared bark of a tree known as the birch, which grows in the Himalayas, while inscriptions were engraved either on a stone surface or on bricks or metals.

3. Manuscripts are relatively easier to write.

A lot of time and effort was taken to create inscriptions.
