Given : Mass of Earth is 5.972 x 10²⁴ kg,

the mass of the Mars is 6.39 x 10²³ kg and

the mass of Venus is 0.486 x 10²⁵ kg.

To Find :

the total mass and express total mass in standard form

Solution:

Very large and very small numbers can be expressed in standard form.•

Standard form is also called scientific notation form

A number is written in scientific notation if it has the form c × 10ⁿ where

c ≥1,  c < 10, and n is an integer.

Mass of Earth is 5.972 x 10²⁴ kg   = 5.972 x 10²⁴

the mass of the Mars is 6.39 x 10²³ kg  = 0.639 x 10²⁴ kg

the mass of Venus is 0.486 x 10²⁵ kg   4.86 x 10²⁴ kg

Add all

5.972 x 10²⁴ + 0.639 x 10²⁴ + 4.86 x 10²⁴ kg

= (5.972 + 0.639 + 4.86) x 10²⁴ kg

= 11.471 x 10²⁴ kg

= 1.1471 x 10²⁵ kg

total mass  is 1.1471 x 10²⁵ kg
