Solution :-

Let,

  • The man's work be x.
  • The boys work be y.

Case (I) :-

  • 3 men and 4 boys together can do a piece of work in 14 days.

Eqn. 3x + 4y = 14 __________(1)

Case (II) :-

  • 4 men and 5 boys can do the same work in 10 days.

Eqn. 4x + 5y = 10 __________(2)

Multiply by 5 in eqn. (1), We get :

↪ 15x + 20y = 70 ___________(3)

Multiply by 4 in eqn. (2), We get :

↪ 16x + 20y = 40____________(4)

From eqn. (3)&(4) :-

15x + 20y = 70

16x + 20y = 40

_ _ _ ( Substrating)

___________

x = 30

.°. x =30.

Put x=30 in eqn. (1) , We get :

↪3(30) + 4y = 14

↪ 90 + 4y = 14

↪4y = 90 - 14

↪4y = 76

↪.°. y = 19.

Hence,

  • The men's are finish their work in 30days.

  • The boy's are finish their work in 19days.
