let 1 women do the work in y days 
let 1 men do the work in x days
therfore , 3x+4y=7    eq.1*2
                2x+3y=10 eq.2*3
                6x+8y=14 eq.3(from multipling eq.1 into 2)
                6x+9y=30 eq.4(from multipling eq.2 into 3)
subtracting eq.3 from eq.4
                6x+9y=30
                6x+8y=14 
                -   -      -
                0  +y=16
                       y= 16
                 3x +4(16)=7

Here's your answer =>=>

3 men and 4 women can do the work in 7 days.

2 men and 3 women can do the work in 10 days.

So, In how many days 3 men and 1 woman can do the work ???

Let the work done by men = x

Let the work done by women = Y

Hence, your equation will be as follows ===

Equation a) 3x + 4y = 7

Equation b) 2x + 3y = 10

Equation c) 3x + 1y = ??

So, next you have to multiply the first equation with 2 and second equation with 3.

a) 2 ( 3x + 4y ) = 2 ( 7 )

== 6x + 8y = 14

b) 3 ( 2x + 3y ) = 3 ( 10 )

== 6x + 9y = 30

Now, subtract equation a) from equation b)

= 6x + 9y = 14
- 6x + 8y = 30

= 0x - 1y = -16
= -1y = -16
= y = 16


So let's find ur required equation c)

3x + 1y = ??

1 + 1 (16) = ??

1 + 16 = 17

Hence, 3x + 1y = 17
