Answer:
SALUBONG: Salubong (“Meeting” in Tagalog) is a traditional Filipino prayer that realizes the encounter between the resurrected Christ and his mother. In the Filipino community, on Easter Sunday morning, believers carry statues of the resurrected Christ and the celebrated mother in two separate processes throughout the city. The people of the congregation accompany the statue of Christ in a solemn procession. The women in the congregation are in a dark funeral, accompanied by the image of a mourning mother wrapped in a black veil of mourning. They usually arrive at a designated meeting place in front of the church. There, a girl dressed as an angel removes the veil of black mourning from the statue of Mary. This dedication is celebrated in many parishes throughout the United States serving the Filipino community.
