The three metals are Sodium, Potassium, and Aluminum. The properties of each metal are as follows:
Sodium:
- It is one of the softest and most lustrous metals available on earth which can be cut with a knife.
- It is a highly reactive metal that explodes tremendously when it is in contact with air and water.
- It reacts with water to form sodium hydroxide and reacts with air to form sodium oxide.
Potassium:
- Potassium is also the softest metal similar to Sodium and is lustrous.
- It is highly reactive to air, water, chlorine, sulfur, nitrogen, and phosphorous.
- This metal can float on water and can react violently to give out Hydrogen.
Aluminum:
- Aluminum is a lighter metal with low density and is extremely resistant to corrosion.
- It has high thermal conductivity and has non-magnetic properties.
- It generally does not react with air or water but readily reacts with mineral acids and alkalis to give solutions containing Aluminum.
