The cost of 1 necklace is Rs 434

Solution:

Given that the cost of 3 necklaces is same as 7 rings. Let N denote necklace and R denote ring,

Thus 3N = 7R

Also it is given that 3 necklaces and 3 rings cost 1860 i.e.

3N + 3R = 1860

7R + 3R = 1860

10R = 1860

R = 186

Thus the cost of 1 ring is Rs 186

The cost of 7 rings is 186 × 7 = Rs 1302 which is same as the cost of 3 necklaces

Thus 3 necklaces = Rs 1302

1 necklaces = \frac{1302}{3}

1 necklaces = Rs 434

Thus the cost of one necklace is Rs.434
