3. On a see-saw, two children of masses 30 kg and
60 kg are sitting on one side of it at distances 2 m and
2.5 m respectively from the centre of the see saw. Find
the distance at which a man of mass 75 kg should sit
on the other side to balance the see saw. (Ans. 28 m)

Answer:

So it's simple

If two children are sitting on one side of the fulcrum and the other side is empty then , according to law of equilibrium Lhs = Rhs

or left side of see saw = right side

Now let the distance of the man sitting be x meters

Then we know ,

m1 × d1 = m2 × d2

(30×2) + (60×2.5) = 75x

or 75x=210

or x =2.8m (Ans)

Explanation:

Bro one thing that the answer should be 2.8m and not 28m.
