Step-by-step explanation:

Let breadth be xm

Length = x+2m

Perimeter = 24m

perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

24 = 2( x+2+x)

24 = 2(2x+2)

24 = 4x+4

24 - 4 = 4x

20 = 4x

4x = 20

x = 20/4

x = 5

Breadth = 5m

Length = 5+2 = 7m

Given :

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 24m
  • Length of a rectangle is 2m more than its breadth.

 \\

To Find :

  • Length of the Rectangle
  • Breadth of the Rectangle

 \\

Solution :

⟾ Let the Breadth of Rectangle be x

⟾ Then Length of Rectangle will be x + 2

According to the Question :

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

➞ 24 = 2 ( x + 2 + x )

➞ 24/2 = x + 2 + x

➞ 12 = 2x + 2

➞ 12 - 2 = 2x

➞ 10 = 2x

➞ 10/2 = x

➞ 5 = x

________________

Verification :

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

➞ Perimeter = 2 (x + 2 + x)

➞ Perimeter = 2 (5 + 2 + 5)

➞ Perimeter = 2 (7 + 5)

➞ Perimeter = 2 × 12

24 = 24

Hence Verified

Therefore :

  • Length = x + 2 = 5 + 2 = 7m
  • Breadth = x = 5m

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle:

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²
