Time taken by the three taps together to fill the tank = (1/10 + 1/15 + 1/20)^-1

=60/13hrs

Total time taken including the 2 gaps (one between 1st and 2nd tap and the other between 2nd and 3rd tap)

= 20 hrs

Time taken by the taps to fill the tank without any time gap = 3*60/13

=180/13 (as the taps were open in succession not together)

Time of the 2 gaps = 20 - 180/13

=80/13

Time of each gap = 80/13÷2

=40/13 hrs.
