The winds blowing through-out the year from one latitude to another in response to latitudinal differences in air pressure are called “planetary or prevailing winds”. These are extremely steady winds blowing from sub-tropical high pressure areas (30°N and S) towards the equatorial low pressure belt.

According to Ferrel's Law, in the northern hemisphere, the Coriolis force deflects the winds towards the right and in the southern hemisphere, they are deflected towards the left. ... All these winds formed by the pressure belts are called Global winds or Planetary winds or Primary Winds.

hope it helps ☺️
