suppose m and n are 2 parallel lines and line l is their transversal suppose line l is parallel to line m

mark the points a, b on line m

c and d on line n

p and q on line l

suppose the line l intersects line m and n at k and l respectively

since line l is parallel to line m angle pkb =90 degrees

since line ab parallel to cd and transversal pq intersects them at k and l respectively

then angle kld = angle pkb (corresponding angles)

angl kld =90 degrees

therefore line l is parallel to line n
