Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

A radio is purchased for 6,150. If 18 % discount is allowed on its marked price and it still results in a gain of 5 %.

To find :-

Find the marked price of the radio?

Solution :-

Let the marked price of the radio be Rs. X

The purchased price of the radio = Rs. 6150

Percentage of Discount = 18%

Discount = MD/100

=> D = (X×18)/100

=> D = 18X/100

=> D = 9X/50

Discount = Rs. 9X/50

We know that

Selling Price = Marked Price - Discount

=> SP = X-(9X/50)

=> SP = (50X-9X)/50

=> SP = 41X/50

Gain on it = 5%

We know that

Cost price = (100×SP)/(100+g)

=>CP = [100×(41X/50)]/(100+5)

=>CP = (4100X /50)/105

=> CP = (41X×2)/105

=> CP = 82X/105

Cost price of the radio = Rs. 82X/105

According to the given problem

The Cost Price of the radio = Rs. 6150

=> 82X/105 = 6150

=> 82X = 6150×105

=> 82X = 645750

=> X = 645750/82

=> X = 7875

Marked price = Rs. 7875

Answer:-

The Marked Price of the radio is Rs. 7875

Check:-

Marked Price = Rs. 7875

Discount = 7875×18/100

=> D = 141750/100

=> Discount = Rs. 1417.50

Selling Price = 7875-1417.50

=> Selling Price = 6457.50

Gain = 5%

=> Cost Price = (100×6457.5)/105

=> Cost Price = 645750/105

=> Cost price = Rs. 6150

Verified the given relations in the given problem.
