3) Q3. If x : y = 5:4 and 2: x= 3:8, find the value of y.​

Given,

        $x : y = 5 : 4$

It can also be written as,

        $\frac{x}{y} = \frac{5}{4}$   -----( 1 )

Also given,

        $2 : x = 3: 8$

        $\frac{2}{x} = \frac{3}{8}$

        $x = \frac{2 * 8}{3}$

        $x = \frac{16}{3}$

        $x = 5.33$

Now let's substitute x  in equation (1)

     $\frac{\frac{16}{3} }{y} = \frac{5}{4}$

     $y = \frac{16 * 4 }{5 * 3}$

        $y =\frac{64}{15}$

        $y = 4.26$
