Given : Remainder is- 5 in long division of polynomial

To Find :  what should be added to polynomial to make it exactly divisible.

Solution:

p(x) =  g(x) f(x)  + r(x)

Remainder is- 5

=> r(x) = - 5

=> p(x) =  g(x) f(x) - 5

=> p(x) + 5 =   g(x) f(x)

Hence 5 must be added to polynomial to make it exactly divisible.
