3 resistors of 3ohm ,10ohm amd 15 ohm are connected in series and the combination is connected to a battery of 30volt. Ammeter and voltmeter is connected in the circuit.Draw the circuit daigram and to connect all the devices in proper order .What is the current flowing and potential difference across 10 ohm resistance

» According to question :-

» Total Resistance = R1 + R2 + R3

_________________

=> R1 = 3 ohm

=> R2 = 10 ohm

=> R3 = 15 ohm

_________________

=> R1 + R2 +R3 = 3 + 10 + 15 = 28 ohm

_________________

» We know that :-

=> V = RI

=> I = V/R

=> I = 30/28

=> I = 15/14 A

___________________

» Thus, the Voltage Along 10 ohm Resistance

=> IR2 = 15/14 × 10

=> 75/7 V = 10.72 V

Heya!
--------

=======================================================

➖◾R1 - 3 Ohm

➖◾R2 - 10 Ohm

➖◾R3 - 15 Ohm .

⭐We Know , Equivalent Resistance in Series Combination is Given By :

♦Rs = R1 + R2 + R3

=> Rs = 3 + 10 + 15

=> 28 Ohm..................|1.|

◾➖Using Ohm's Law ,

=> V = I• R

=> 30 = 28I

=> Current I = 30/28 = 15/14......................|2.|

⭐Now, Potential Difference across the 10 Ohm Resistor ->

=> I × R2 = 15/14 × 10

=> 10.72 V

DevilDoll12: Thanks !
devdkpandey: Yet the numerical is correct but connection of voltmeter is not correct. voltmeter is always connected in parallel combination. Here voltmeter is connected in series which is wrong. Voltmeter should be in parallel combination with 10 ohm resistor to measure voltage across it .
