If all the 2 resistances are connected in series then it is denoted as 3R or if it is connected in parallel then it is denoted as R/3.

If two are in parallel and 1 is in series then R+ R/2+R/2.

Now, if two are in series or in parallel then it is given as 2R/3 so option A will not work well.

The answer will be (1/2R)+(2/2R) = 3/2R = 1/ R total thus R total = 2R/3.
