To find:-

The greatest number which can divide 76, 132 and 160 and leaves remainder.

Solution:-

To find the greatest number, it is clearly known that we have to perform prime factorization method.

After factorising,

We get,

  • 76 = 2×2×19 = 2²×19

  • 132 = 2×2×3×11 = 2²×3×11

  • 160 = 2×2×2×2×2×5 = 2⁵×5

Hence,

HCF = 2×2= 2²

HCF = 4

Therefore, The Greatest possible number that can divide 76, 132 and 160 is 4, which gives a remainder of zero in each case.
