Oil Paints are made by mixing and grinding pigment like Cadmium Red or Cerulean Blue with a drying vegetable oil like linseed oil (obtained from the seeds of flax plant).
The paint is commonly used on canvases but it can be applied to different surfaces and textures as well.
There are mainly two kinds of brushes used in oil painting: 1. Stiff hog hair bristle brushes- for covering large areas & 2. Soft hair brushes - for fine detail .
