3. Shiva and Sanjay work in an Information Technology (IT) multi-national company (MNC) in the same team as management trainees. They both got selected through campus placement. It has been six months since they joined the company. While filling up their confirmation forms Shiva came to know that Sanjay draws more remuneration than him. This had visibly upset Shiva and he started dumping all his work to Sanjay. The strained relationship between them could be sensed by their colleagues as well. Sanjay probed for this and from one of Shiva s new confidante he came to know the reason.
a. What kind of conflict was between Shiva & Sanjay? Discuss the same with suitable concepts & reasons.

The way I look at it is the fact that Shiva is little shocked, primarily because he feels let down.

He feels that he has been given a raw deal. And he also feels inferior; a sense of doubt has crept in, which is leading him to frustration and anger, and thus his behaviour towards Sanjay.

Shiva should accept the fact that Sanjay has got a better deal, it is not Sanjay’s fault. It’s just that Sanjay was able to present himself better, which helped him grab a better portion.

There are conflicts in an organisation, due to many reasons.

The conflict between Shiva & Sanjay was due to the difference of remuneration drawn by them.

The clashes lead to different negative impacts on the other members of the organisation too.

The disturbance also led to the decrease in production as the workers are busy in conflicts and showing down others.
