Question:

Shweta, Piyush and Nachiket together invested 80000 rupees and started a business of selling sheets and towels

from Solapur. Shweta's share of the capital was 30000 rupees and Piyush's 12000. At the end of the year they had

made a profit of 24%. What was Nachiket's investment and what was his share of the profit?

To find:

  • Nachiket's investment.
  • His share of profit

Solution:

We have to find Nachiket's investment first.

Nachikt's investment ( N )

30000 + 120000 + N = 80000.

42000 + N = 80000

N = 38000

Ratio = 30000:12000:38000

⠀⠀⠀⠀= 30:12:38

⠀⠀⠀⠀= 15:6:19

 \tt{15x + 6x + 19x = 19200 }\\  \tt{40x = 19200}  \\ \\ \tt{x  = \frac{190{ \cancel 0}}{4{ \cancel{0}}}}  \\   \\ \tt{x =  { \cancel\frac{190}{40} }}

N = 19 × 480 = 9120

➠ Nachiket's investment is 38000, and his share of profit is 9120

Answer:

We have to find Nachiket's investment first.

Nachikt's investment ( N )

30000 + 120000 + N = 80000.

42000 + N = 80000

N = 38000

Ratio = 30000:12000:38000

⠀⠀⠀⠀= 30:12:38

⠀⠀⠀⠀= 15:6:19

\

 \begin{gathered} \tt{15x + 6x + 19x = 19200 }\\ \tt{40x = 19200} \\ \\ \tt{x = \frac{190{ \cancel 0}}{4{ \cancel{0}}}} \\ \\ \tt{x = { \cancel\frac{190}{40} }}\end{gathered}

N = 19 × 480 = 9120

➠ Nachiket's investment is 38000, and his share of profit is 9120
