Answer: on dissolving NaCl in aqueous solution, NaOH and HCl are formed, NaOH is a strong base while HCl is a strong acid , hence NaCl is neutral but, on dissolving Na2CO3 in aqueous solution, NaOH and H2CO3 are formed, NaOH is a strong base but H2CO3 is a weak acid ,hence Na2CO3 is basic in nature
