23x−29y=98⟶(i)

29x−23y=110⟶(ii)

Adding (i) and (ii) we get ,

52x−52y=208

⇒52(x−y)=208

⇒x−y=4⟶(iii)

Substracting (ii) from (i),

−6x−6y=−12

⇒x+y=2⟶(iv)

Now by solving (iii) and (iv),

2x=6

⇒x=3

Substituting value of x in equation (iv),

3+y=2

y=−1

∴x=3 and y=−1

Step-by-step explanation:

23x - 29 y = 98

23x = 98+29y

x = (98+29y)/23 -(1)

apply (1) in 29x-23y=110

29(98+29y)/23 -23y = 110

2842 +841y - 529y = 110×23

312y = 2530 - 2842

y = -312/312

y = -1

so, apply y=-1 for eq(1)

x = (98+29y)/23

x = (98-29)/23

x = 69/23

x=3
