 \frac{3}{x}  +  \frac{x}{3}  =  \frac{17}{4}

 \frac{3}{x} + \frac{x}{3} = \frac{17}{4}

 \frac{3}{x}  +  \frac{x}{3}  =  \frac{17}{4}  =  \frac{3 \times 3 + x \times 3}{3x}  =  \frac{9 + 3x}{3x}

 \frac{9 + 3x}{3x}  =  \frac{17}{4}

4(9 + 3x) = 51x

36 + 12x = 51x

36 = 39x

x =  \frac{36}{39}  =  \frac{12}{13}
