3. The adjacent sides of a parallelogram PQRS are 12 cm and 6 cm. The height corresponding to
side smaller is 8 cm. Find the:
(a) area of the parallelogram.
(b) altitude corresponding to the base PQ.​

(a) area= 48sq.cm

(b) altitude= 4cm

= 6*8 = 48sq.cm. (1)

now , for base PQ, PQ =12cm,. altitude=h

area of//gm = PQ ×h. (put eqn 1 in this) we get,

48 = 12*h.

h = 4cm
