Answer:

fathers age is 3 times the sum of ages of his two children after 5 years his age will be twice the sum of ages of two children find the age of father ...

Step-by-step explanation:

Now, it is also given, after 5 years, his age will be twice the sum of the ages of his son. Therfore, after 5 years age of father will be 3(x+y)+5 and age of the sons will be x+5 and y+5. Thus the age of the father is 45.

Answer:

let the age of father be "f"

and the ages of sons be "s"

from 1st condition

f = 3s..........(1)

from second condition

f+5 = 2(s+10)........10 because there are 2 sons

f+5 = 2s + 20

f-2s = 15......(2)

from (1) and (2)

3s-2s = 15

s = 15

substitute value of s in equation (1)

we get,

f = 3s

f = 3× 15

f = 45

therefore, age of father is 45 years
