Solution -

In this question we have to find the arithmetic mean of a + 2, a and a - 2.

Arithmetic mean is given as :-

\bf\longmapsto{\boxed{\pink{A.M = \dfrac{Sum\: of\: all\: observation}{No.\: of\: observation}}}}

Or, arithmetic mean for 3 observation is given as

\bf\longmapsto{\boxed{\pink{A.M = \dfrac{a + b + c}{3}}}}

Let us consider,

  • a = a + 2
  • b = a
  • c = a - 2

Putting the values

\sf\dashrightarrow{A.M = \dfrac{(a + 2) + a + (a - 2)}{3}}

\sf\dashrightarrow{A.M = \dfrac{a + a + a + 2 - 2}{3}}

\sf\dashrightarrow{A.M = \dfrac{3a}{a}}

\frak\dashrightarrow{\purple{A.M = a}}

Hence,

  • Arithmetic mean of the given observation is a.
